An update to Number Employed in Libraries in the United States as of April 2021 and April 2022.

Just to clarify: I use the date of April 2023 in my title because the numbers come from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Employment Statistics and these have usually been updated in April of the current year. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the Bureau of Labor Statistics page and you’ll see:

Last Modified Date: April 25, 2023

But as I’m sure you noticed, at the top of the Bureau of Labor Statistics page, the tabulations themselves are dated:

May 2022 Occupation Profiles

And this has been the routine in dating these numbers for years now.

For even further clarification, I have changed/corrected the links on Number Employed in Libraries in the United States as of April 2021 and April 2022 and changed/corrected the links and the name on Number Employed in Libraries in the United States as of April 2020 (previously December) so that they now go directly to their own actual numbers, since the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics updates the numbers under the same URL address every year, and moves the old numbers to a year-dated directory URL address:
